a bit about me -
I'm a late-fifties, disabled Cornishman (MS).
I am just an occasional photographer now, after a long career in various photographic gubbins-selling roles (read: knew a lot about the gear, didn't do much photography really), including an exciting time with the now assimilated by Sony camera manufacturer, Minolta.
My photographic enthusiasm level fluctuates wildly. I am not your clichéd 'passionate photographer'.
My intention is to be sparing with words here normally, but I can get carried away sometimes. Posts just seem to grow if I'm in the right wordy mood.
I don't post all the gear and tech details for pictures—I just don't see the point and I get really, really bored with gear talk very quickly. I started talking about it for money in the early eighties, and finished in the 2010's. That's long enough.
But just for this page I'll provide some;
- I use a Sony A7R 111, an older A6000 sometimes, and have a selection of Sony and Sigma lenses. The main one I use is a Sony 24-70 f2.8 GM, when I feel strong enough to carry it.
- I use some ND64 filters for ICM shooting.
- I rarely use a tripod. I use a cane to walk, often have some dyspraxia, and have limited time for how long my balance and coordination works, so keeping things as lightweight and easy as possible is important to me getting any photos.
- I shoot in RAW format and used to process using Adobe LightRoom, but I am now trying to get to grips with Darktable on Linux.
