An image combining ICM (panning during the exposure) and a black and white finish.

An artist friend once advised me that with black and white images, they always work better if there are at least some small areas of pure black and total white. I don't know if that's necessarily true, but this one definitely does that.

forest edge, square i c m photo at the edge of a plantation fir forest, with light from the right hand side gradually reducing as it strikes fewer trees into the forest on the left. The camera panning gives a slightly blurred and unreal spooky feel to the strong uprights of the tree trunks and branches
