A street scene looking at a whitewashed cottage that has steps leading up to an entrance door on the left, and on the right hand side a window with 'Brocante' written on it. In front of that on the cobbled street, as if waiting for someone inside the Brocante shop, stands a man with dark clothing and a beanie type hat, his hands clasped in front of him, holding a dog on a lead. on a lead. brumphpics

forest edge 2417

I posted this one a few days ago now, but without any words. I think perhaps I took my 'About' page line a bit too seriously.

My intention is for there to be a minimum of words here normally...

Sometimes I find it difficult to imagine what sort of information might be needed by a viewer of a picture though. It's all there, isn't it? I don't want to end up like those recipe sites where the author tells you some rambling back-story before getting to the recipe you're there for.

It's a pine plantation type forest, I am at the edge of it, and I've used a tiny amount of camera movement on about 1/8th of a second shutter speed to introduce a little bit of ghostliness.

Square format black and white picture using the Intentional Camera Movement technique, which adds a subtle blur to the scene at the edge of a pine forest. The right side is lighter at the forest edge, and the light fades as the forest gets denser to the left. The frame is filled top to bottom by the trunks of tall pine trees, the light falling off as the trees get denser towards the left.
