rushing tide
You will find me posting blurred pictures quite often. I like the movement it gives in what is normally a frozen moment. My disability makes it hard to carry around a tripod to do any long exposure photography, what with already having a walking stick in one hand, and probably the dog on a lead in the other. My 'workaround' for that is to go with a light reducing ND filter and deliberately play with the abstraction the movement of the camera, coupled with a slower shutter speed, gives me. It's ultimately a little bit unpredictable, although you do learn what works - or at least how it's likely to work - with different subjects and techniques.
This is one of the less extreme uses. A press of the shutter, and then start a little panning movement with the camera, as opposed to panning smoothly and then pressing the shutter as you pan. It leaves a solid image from the still start, then adds your movement to the scene.
This is a slightly rarer 'landscape format and black and white' example.
